1.Raigad Fort(Raigad):
This hill fort is 820 meters long, which situated between the Sahyadri mountain range in Mahad, Maharashtra. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the king of Marathas, made this fort the capital of his kingdom. There is a famous wall in the fort, which implemented at the time of Hirani Burj and Mahaparva.
In history, the Mughals defeated the Marathas and took possession of the fort, which was named Aurangzeb “Islamgarh”. The East India Company wanted to give the fort a form of a fortress, hence, they carried out an armed campaign here.
2.Pratapgad Fort(Satara):
Pratapgarh, also known as Valor Fort located in Mahabaleshwar, is a historically very important site, which is located in Satara. This fort can be divided into the lower and upper fort, which is now a people’s attraction near Mahabaleshwar, a hill station.

Murud-Janjira is one of the important Kilos of the Maratha Empire, which has played a very important role in history. This fort is Near The Arabian Sea coast near the town of Murud. This fort has secret gates. Its structure is unique and strong.

4.Sinhagad Fort(Pune):
Sinhagad is located in the center of other forts such as Rajgarh, Torna, and Purandar, which is 30 km southwest direction from Pune city. This fort has a long and large history, it is one of the most popular places to visit in the monsoon near Pune.
From Sinhagad you can see the forts of Torana, Purandar, and Rajgarh. The most famous battles here fought by General Tanaji Malusare.
5.Shivneri Fort(Pune):
This fort holds an important place because Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born here. And now it has been declared a protected monument by the government. It is a famous historical military fort in the hilly region, which is located a little distance from Junnar in Maharashtra.
